Found a stack of 28 explosive ordnances at one spot at the confirmed hazardous area (CHA-407-0002)

On 17 August 2022, during clearance process, PeaceTrees VietNam Quang Binh’s Battle Area Clearance Teams found a stack of 28 explosive ordnances at one spot at the confirmed hazardous area (CHA-407-0002) in Sao Sa village, Nam Trach commune, Bo Trach district.
Being found at an rubber-tree plantation, these explosives items included one 100mm high-explosive projectiles, eighteen 57mm high-explosive projectiles and nine projectile fuzes. All of them were identified in the “safe-to-move” status and transported to a safe storage location for detonation.
Currently, Quang Binh is still one of the high explosive ordnanance contaminated province in Vietnam. Through clearance at confirmed hazardous areas, responding to EOD spot tasks and delivering of explosive ordnance risk education, PeaceTrees Vietnam in Quang Binh has been making contributions to support the local authority in removing the risks of cluster munitions and other conventional weapons across Quang Binh province in order to bring safety to people and promote local socio-economic development opportunities.
